Lights for Liberty!

The administration’s persecution of Latin American immigrants fleeing violence and repression in their home countries is a great moral issue of our time. A just nation recoils at cruelty and oppression. Our Revolution Maryland is a sponsor of Lights for Liberty which this Friday July 12 “will bring thousands of people to locations worldwide” at one united Vigil to End Human Concentration Camps “to protest the inhumane conditions faced by migrants.”

The central Lights for Liberty vigil will be at Lafayette Square, DC (across from the White House), 7 – 9pm. Our Revolution activists from around the DMV will gather for a livestream at 6pm in Farragut Square (justsouth of Connectict and K Street, N.W.),  to hear speakers, leaders, and immigrants discuss the current administration’s human rights abuses and what we can do about it. We will then walk a couple of block to Lafayette Square in solidarity with our imprisoned and threatened brothers and sisters.

Our Revolution Maryland Chapters will be participating at other vigils from 7 to 9pm in Maryland. The Baltimore Chapter is co-hosting the Patriot Plaza vigil at 401 Bosley Avenue, Towson, MD 21204. The Howard County Chapter will be at the Wilde Lake Interfaith Center, 10431 Twin Rivers Road, Columbia, MD 21044.

We look forward to seeing you Friday evening. If you or a family member or friend are facing persecution due to your status and would like to share your story, please email
