Canvassing for Medicare-for-All

Thursday afternoon, I joined OrMoCo members Don Bosset and Betsey Katiti at the Silver Spring Metro Station where Don was leading a canvass for Medicare-for-All. We urged supporters to reach out to Maryland’s two U.S. Senators, Chris Van Hollen and Ben Cardin – both Democrats – and demand that they support Medicare-for-All legislation.

We are still signing up more people to host canvasses. If you’d like help in this way, please email me at ourrevmaryland@gmail.com.

If you are a Marylander, please call Van Hollen and Cardin to  insist that they side with the people against the insurance companies by endorsing Bernie Sanders’ Medicare-for-All legislation. To date, they have sided with the health insurance lobby against the people. You can reach both through the Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121.

In the House of Representatives, Democrats: Elijah Cummings, David Trone, Dutch Ruppersberger, and Steny Hoyer also have the back of the insurance lobby. With Democrats like these, who needs Republicans. Kudos to Jamie Raskin, John Sarbanes, and Anthony Brown for endorsing the Jayapal legislation.

If any of these men or Republican Andy Harris is your Representative, please call them via the National Nurses United Hotline, (202) 858-1717, and demand their support for Pramila Jayapal’s outstanding House bill.
