Good news today for public transit riders. The Purple Line is back on track after the 4th Circuit federal appeals court removed an injunction against efforts to move forward with the light rail project. There are still plenty of challenges ahead. Securing the promised $900 million federal aid, state funds to complete the project and eventually winning the lawsuit all could derail the effort.
A Greener Future
Maryland needs to do a lot more in terms of funding a multimodal mass transit system that will get residents to where they need to go. Building the Purple Line is an important step as the first new Maryland rail construction project in decades.
