ORMoCo Chapter Minutes 11-11-18

Over 30 activists convened for Our Revolution Montgomery County’s Chapter Meeting Sunday November 11 at Kaldi’s Social House in Silver Spring from 11 – 1:30. The meeting opened with a presentation by Virginian Yasmien Taeb who is running for Virginia State Senate in 2019. She asked for our support as she seeks to unseat Democrat Dick Saslaw who has been in the State Senate for nearly 40 years. Taeb promised to be a far more progressive Senator than Saslaw. Women Bolster the Democratic Party

ORMoCo activist and writer Jim Grossfeld has a new article in the American Prospect:

“Meet Nicole Breadon. She’s 46, a lifelong resident of Clarkston, a town of fewer than 1,000 that’s become one of Detroit’s distant exurbs. Her husband Todd grew up in Clarkston, too. Breadon, a sous chef, left her job six years ago to spend more time with her two sons, both special needs children. She’s also an archetype of lasting change in Michigan Democratic politics.” Read Jim’s piece in its entirety at http://prospect.org/article/women-bolster-democrats%E2%80%99-midwestern-prospects
